WoWs: Confederate Achievement My Best Game to Date

In World of Warships I never thought I would pull off a Confederate achievement. To get the achievement you have to: Damage at least 6 enemy ships. Damage caused to each ship must exceed 20% of her normal HP. I think its telling that I got it on my Zuiho (Tier 5) carrier. It would be much harder in a battleship or cruiser maybe its easier at higher levels because ships have more hp. I don't know I haven't gotten that high yet.

The Strait map loaded up. I love this map because it forces players to play. You find out real fast how good you are when you only have half your team to back you up. I launched my planes I was running the 1 fighter 2 torps 1 bomber load out. I went straight for the enemy CV(carrier). My bomber hit and both torp runs landed multiply hits with a Devastating Strike finishing him off. The skies were mine and I wasted no time in laying down the hurt. Ships destroyed: 1.

My next target was the BBs (battleships) on my side of the map. I laid down torp and bombing runs. I managed to sink one from flood damage. The other burning from bombs limped away north into the channel. Ships destroyed: 2. I turned my sights on the two CC (cruisers) on my side of the map. For some reason they were both running parallel to each other and one torp run managed to hit both of them lots of flood damage later I managed to sink one of them. Ships destroyed: 3.

I was slowly moving up to the top of the map through the narrow channels on the side of the map up to where my remaining team mates were. One of the BBs that had floated through the center channel earlier in the game was refusing to go down. I ran multiple torp runs and bomb runs to final get her to go under. She was the only one on the enemy team who knew what they were doing. She was the hardest to take down. Ships destroyed: 4.

Now my CV was at the top of the map I had a DD (destroyer) making chase. I was able to pull off a perfect torpedo run trap with my two squadrons of torpedo planes. First I dropped torpedoes from behind to force him to stay straight in the same direction. Torpedoes travel about the same speed as a DD so they don't over take her they run parallel. Then I ran a torpedo run from the side and forced her into a trap. It only takes one torp to sink a damaged DD. Ships destroyed: 5.

My sixth and final kill came as the game was about up and with a bit of luck. A lone St. Louis CC was beating up through the narrow channel. She happened to be one of the two CC I had hit with a torpedo earlier. A BB on my team was zeroing in on the St. Louis. I had one bomber squadron hauling towards her. I thought for sure the BB was going to sink her but she hadn't hit her yet. I managed to hit her with a bombing run right as the game came to and end. Because of the earlier damage I had done to it from a torpedo that made ship number 6 destroyed with 20% hp damage being done to each. I couldn't believe it. I wasn't trying for the achievement I just wanted the xp.

With my tier 5 CV Zuiho I managed 6 Ships destroyed. None of it would have been possible with out sinking the enemy CV right from the start. Without a doubt my best game to date. To bad I didn't get it on video. Oh well there is always next time.
