State of the Talisman 2016

Through this past year I have been very busy due to life circumstances. Looking forward I am hoping to have a little more time to write and post here. I have been wandering from game to game looking for something fun to play since I stopped playing Eve Online about a year ago.

What am I playing right now?

In order of the amount of time I have been playing.

Prison Architect
Prison Architect has been getting a lot of my attention over the past several months. I have had a blast playing and building prisons. The old school sim city feel I get while playing is awesome. If you enjoy city sims you should definitely take a look at this game.

World of Warships
I have been playing WoWs off again on again for the past several months. It has been fun but my PC just isn't up to the task. More on that later. As far as the game play is concerned I have really enjoyed my time playing and look to continue some causal play sessions.

Kerbal Space Program
I have had a blast playing Kerbal Space Program again though my PC hasn't been running the game as well as I would hope. Having said that let me tell you about my PC.

State of the PC

Its old. In dog years its has to be close to 80 years old. No kidding. I don’t know I made that up. I built my current rig when Windows 7 was in open beta that was in 2009. If you're doing the math on your fingers that is seven years ago as of this posting. I have changed out several parts. The power supply died a couple years ago as well as the original video card. The only upgrade I have put in it is the addition of an SSD. It still boots in seconds but its showing its age.

I am in the process of building a whole new machine and I will post some pictures if I get a chance.

Looking into the future

I have several games on my radar. Naval Action looks promising. I would like to check out Factorio. The Division also looks like it could be fun. The reality is though I have limited time and often can't play a certain game as much as I would like or an older game comes up that I start playing again. With that in mind I hope to write more frequently here with less video spam and more guides if I can ever focus in on a particular game long enough to merit writing a guide or two. Catch you later.
