WoWs: “It's just a flesh wound!”

In World of Warships the achievement "It's just a flesh wound!" is one of sweet revenge. You get it by destroying an enemy ship after your ship has been destroyed. You usually pick it up from catching ships on fire or causing flood damage. Let me tell you about the first time I got the achievement.

I was sailing in my Tenryu (Tier 3 cruiser) in the Fault Line map. We had pushed all the way to the other side of the map taking the fight to the enemy. I was fighting another Tenryu. We were both about dead and she had a full spread of torps bearing down on my ship. I was dead for sure and wasn’t going to get in a good position to drop my own torps so I just dumped mine in the water in his general direction. She was at least 3 or 4 km away.

Her torps struck home and I quickly sank. I sat their and watched as she turned parallel to my torp spread and headed away from them. He must of thought for sure they would miss. When just at the last second one of my torps slammed into the aft of his ship and sunk him. “It's just a flesh wound!”

The second time I picked it up was when I was in the Islands map with my St. Louis (Tier 3 Cruiser). After me and my team had sunk a hand full of cruisers and the battleship on our side of the map we were headed to the far side to clean up the rest of the enemy teams ships. I only had maybe 25% hp left when another St. Louis came out from behind an island. I was skirting behind the same island as fast as I could go but I was already on fire and would soon be dead. Just as I was about to lose sight of the opposing St. Louis behind the island I was able to loose one last barrage of shells on him. I sunk seconds latter.

Paying no thought to it I was watching the rest of the battle play out when I got the achievement again. Fire is your friend when it's on the other player's ship burning them down.
