Elite: Dangerous Soft Release and Release Dates
Elite: Dangerous will soft release on Nov. 22nd. Beta backers will have the opportunity to play the release version of the game and baring no major hiccups keep what they earn during this final stage of what Frontier Developments is calling a gamma version or "soft release." On Dec. 16, 2014 the game will be released for everyone to purchase for less than the beta.
Elite seems to strike a fresh balance between hardcore Eve Online game play and the not quite a mmo old school Freelancer with its static economy. From what I have watched, read, and seen, as I have not played the beta, it is a comfortable balance between the two.
Notably keeping a comfortable balance of immersive game play that doesn't seem as spreadsheet centric as Eve Online. Where a little casual spaceship blasting can take place and a trip around the sun and be back before dinner starts. I like that in a game. Can't wait to try this one out.
